Mute, Solo & Select

Three small buttons, most of your daily clicks. Each strip — input, group or bus — carries the same trio.

M — Mute

Silences the strip. The audio still flows into it (meters upstream keep moving), but nothing leaves.

  • Mute a channel and it disappears from every bus it feeds.
  • Mute a bus and that destination goes quiet without affecting any other mix.
  • Mute a VCA group and all its member channels fall silent together.

Mute is part of the mix state — it's saved with scenes, so a "Streaming" scene can have your music channel muted while "Everyday" doesn't.

S — Solo

The opposite trick: solo a strip and you hear only the soloed strips, everything else is temporarily silenced. Solo several strips to audition them together.

Solo is a listening tool, not a mix decision:

  • Use it to isolate a problem channel ("which of these six is humming?").
  • Use it to fine-tune one source's EQ without the rest of the mix in your ears.
  • It is deliberately never saved — scenes and app restarts always come back solo-free, so you can't accidentally broadcast a soloed mix.

CLR SOLO — the panic button

With many strips it's easy to leave a stray solo lit somewhere and wonder where your mix went. The ● CLR SOLO button in the monitor bar solves both halves of the problem: it lights up whenever anything is soloed, anywhere, and one click clears them all.

💡 Mix sounds thin?

Mix sounds mysteriously thin or one-source-only? Glance at CLR SOLO first. It's step 3 of the No sound? checklist for a reason.

SELECT — the spotlight

SELECT doesn't change audio at all — it points the config screen (the lower half of the window) at this strip: its HOME overview, EQ, dynamics, effects, spatial settings and setup. Exactly one strip is selected at a time, and the lit SELECT button tells you which one the lower panel is talking about.

The MUTE / SOLO buttons on the HOME tab mirror the strip's M/S — same state, bigger targets, handy while you're already working in the config screen.
