DC Offset Remover
A clean-up filter that strips out inaudible ultra-low rumble and DC offset — a constant electrical bias some audio devices or drivers add — below a chosen corner frequency. It's a set-and-forget node: correctly configured, you'll never hear it doing anything, because what it removes was never meant to be heard.
Reach for it when:
- a meter or waveform view shows the signal sitting off-centre even during silence (a classic DC-offset symptom);
- you want a safety-net high-pass at the very bottom of the spectrum, removing rumble your speakers or headphones can't reproduce anyway but which still eats into your headroom.
FX inserts can be added and set up on Free, but they only affect the sound with Premium.
Adding it
On a channel's FX tab, click + Node ▾ → Time/Space → DC Offset Remover. It drops into the chain just after the selected node. To edit it, pin one of the dock's two panels to it with ⇅, or set a panel to ⟳ Follow FX tab selection and click the node.
In Simple mode, add it from the Effects block's ⚙ instead — see Simple mode.
Where it sits in the chain matters: put it first, right at the start of the chain — there's no reason for a DC offset or sub-bass rumble to ride through every effect after it.
Reading the panel
The graph shows the filter's transfer curve — a high-pass response with its corner set by the CORNER knob. Everything below that frequency is progressively removed; everything above it passes through untouched. There's only one knob here on purpose — the filter's whole job is legible from that one curve.
This panel is compact enough that it has no ⛶ maximize button; it always shares the dock.

A good starting point
Leave it at its default (10 Hz) unless you have a specific reason to move it — this is meant to be inaudible. Raise CORNER a little only if you're chasing rumble you can actually hear (footsteps through a floor, a low mechanical hum); keep it low if you're only after true DC offset and want to preserve every bit of real sub-bass.
If moving CORNER noticeably changes the tone of your source, you've probably pushed it too high and started cutting into real low-frequency content — everything meant to be heard lives well above 40 Hz.
Presets, bypass and reset
- PRESET ▾ in the panel header applies a saved setup, or saves the current one under a name. Once one is applied the header shows Preset: name — see Knowing what preset is applied. Ready-made setups can be found in the Workshop — Workshop ▸ Browse, filter chip DC Remove.
- ON / OFF bypasses just this node.
- RESET returns the knob to its default.
