Soundboard
A Soundboard channel is a grid of up to 15 pads, each a short clip you trigger on demand — voice lines, alert sounds, sound effects, memes. Click a pad and it plays; the whole channel is one voice, so triggering a different pad cuts whatever was already playing and starts the new one. It's built on the exact same playback engine as Player, just aimed at "press a button, hear a sound" instead of a continuous playlist.

A Free-tier board can be built and fully configured — pads, hotkeys, everything — the pads just stay silent when triggered until you upgrade. See Accounts & Premium.
Playing pads
The pad grid appears on the HOME tab (Advanced) and in Simple's Media tray — same grid, same behavior in both:
- Click a pad to play it from the start. Click it again while it's already playing to restart it from the top, rather than stopping it.
- A Stop button (Home tab transport / Media tray) explicitly stops whatever's currently playing.
- The currently-playing pad shows a small ▶ badge in its corner.
- A pad marked HOLD (dashed border) only plays while you keep the mouse button down — release, and it stops. Regular pads are click-and-forget.
Because the board is one voice, only one pad ever plays at a time — pressing a second pad always cuts the first.
Managing pads
Click Manage pads (Home tab or Setup tab in Advanced; the Media tray card in Simple) to open the pad editor — a two-panel window: your pad list on the left, the selected pad's settings on the right.
- Add pad(s) — pick one or more audio files (WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG) at once; each becomes a pad.
- Drag the ⠿ handle to reorder pads in the list — purely cosmetic, pads are always addressed by identity everywhere else (hotkeys, the pad grid, the Open API), so reordering never breaks a binding.
- Per pad: name, color (a swatch you pick from, used for the pad's own tile color everywhere), Hold to play toggle, and a hotkey — click Click to set hotkey… and press a key combo, the same capture flow Hotkeys uses elsewhere.
- Delete pad needs a second confirming click — no accidental deletes.
A pad's hotkey works globally, the same as any other Aura Mixer hotkey — even when the app isn't focused. A Hold to play pad's hotkey is momentary automatically (plays on key-down, stops on key-up); a regular pad's hotkey retriggers on every press, same as clicking it.
Stop as a hotkey/automation action
Beyond per-pad hotkeys, Soundboard: Stop is available as a Hotkey, Automation, or Open API action targeting the channel as a whole — a panic button for whatever's currently playing, regardless of which pad started it.
In Simple mode
The Media tray's dropdown picker lists every Soundboard channel alongside your Players and Recorders — pick one and its pad grid, a Stop button, and Manage pads appear below, sized to fit the card without scrolling. The board's regular sound card (fader, mute, Gate/Comp/EQ/3D Surround/Effects) still works normally alongside it.
